How can I resist the siren call of the animated GIF when Michael Branson Smith tempts me with a Muppet GIF assignment? I cannot. I chose the opening frames from my favorite Muppet movie of all time, The Muppets Take Manhattan. Special tribute to GNA‘s triumphant return to Fredericksburg less than 2 weeks from now!
Together again
Gee, it’s good to be together again
I just can’t imagine that you’ve ever been gone!
It’s not starting over, it’s just going on!

Kermit, so gleeful, so dreamy. Beautiful!
My only complaint is that even with delay set to zero Photoshop insists on slowing the GIF down quite a bit. Wish I could up the frame rate some.
I find that Photoshop plays the animation a bit slower than what it will play through on the web or on my desktop. Maybe it’s how many frames you have to start with? For what it’s worth, I love the way he’s wistfully nodding back and forth.
Try tossing out every other frame that will likely give you what you’re looking for. Kermit is too sweet!
this
Nice Kermit. It’s not easy being green, man, but you do such a good job.
I’m new enough to the animated GIF process that I’m only starting to wrestle with issues of timing in GIFS. I’m sure there are variables I haven’t encountered yet (browsers seeming to be one). Something that I have found useful is just to remove some frames — say every other one? Depending on how similar they are to one another (and how many you have to work with), the image doesn’t necessarily change much, but you potentially decrease the total time by a factor of 2.
Now I think we need Miss Piggy brushing her golden locks, or maybe giving someone a karate chop…

I love that he’s bobbing his head so slowly. All sweetness.
